Design Engineer
Responsibilities include the preparation of grading, drainage, street, sanitary sewer, and water system plans using Autodesk Civil 3D under supervision. The role also assists in preparing technical studies, reports, specifications, and cost estimates. Other functions include research, preparing agency plan submittals, and coordinating responses to agency review comments. The role also involves quality control reviews against company standards and checklists, and collaboration with agency staff, subconsultants, and peers. A minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial land development engineering (civil/site design) is required. Autodesk Civil 3D drafting and design competency is required, along with developing technical report-writing ability. A civil engineering degree is preferred.
Design Technician
Responsibilities include the preparation of ADA upgrade plans using Autodesk Civil 3D in support of Atlas's accessibility consulting services, working under the direction of our Accessibility Program Manager. This role turns field inspection findings and compliance reviews into construction documents for accessible path of travel, curb ramp, accessible parking, and related site improvements that bring existing facilities into compliance. Other functions include research, responding to plan check corrections, implementing markups, setting up project files to company CAD standards, and collaboration with agency staff and peers. The role requires managing multiple project demands and deadlines in a remote work environment. Experience in land development drafting or design is required. Autodesk Civil 3D/AutoCAD competency is required, along with excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Familiarity with ADA and California Building Code Chapter 11B accessibility requirements is a plus.
